Like a fine wine, a much admired sporting hero or Russell Crowe, Stevo was imported from New Zealand and claimed as Australia's own. After settling into life in Adelaide in the late 70s working alongside Max Pepper at Pepper Studios, Stevo soon discovered that an even more attractive pub scene was to be found in Melbourne and soon made the border crossing to work at Flagstaff Studios in its early days in West Melbourne. After a brief hiatus, Flagstaff welcomed back Stevo earlier this year to a newly renovated studio space.
Stevo is well known to his clients for having an easy rapport but most importantly an innate ear for comedy and is usually selected specifically to work on highly coveted productions for television and radio commercials, including soundtracks for Vic Bitter, Cadbury Schweppes, Ford, Shell and the Herald Sun. A huge supporter of young filmmakers, he is often found working late into the night on short films and supports local and national industry bodies by donating his time to mix soundtracks for productions by Ausfilm, the St Kilda Film Festival and the AWGIES.
Over the years Stevo has picked up many local and international awards and continues to inspire both clients and co-workers with his creative intelligence and humour.
Famous for his dubious collection of weird toys and body art, he is less well known for his Michelin hat cooking ability and a fanatical obsession with rugby. In 2006 we welcome Stevo back to Flagstaff!
