Known locally as an actors director, Paul has honed a natural ability to draw the best performance out of voice actors during his 20 years in the advertising industry. Starting his career at George Patterson Bates, Sydney in the 1980s as a mail boy, he moved through the media department and projection room before starting in their in-house recording studio. He then proceeded to weave his way down to Melbourne, quickly becoming one of Melbourne's, best sound designers. Paul's strength lies in his ability to work with a creative team to develop the true story and meaning of a script, and has worked on many high level TVC and radio commercial soundtracks for accounts such as Myer, Holden, the Australian Defence Force, Cadbury, Carlton Draught, Village Roadshow. He also supports the local and national industries by being involved in mixing soundtracks for MIFF, SPAA, the AFIs as well as short film soundtracks for up and coming young filmmakers and animators.
As well as being lauded by his peers, he has been widely recognised formally for his work over the years by winning many awards for sound design, including local MADC, Golden Stylus and Siren awards, plus international accolades from LIA, Midas, Cannes and the New York Festivals.
He also loves playing the guitar and writing songs for his imaginary band The Lame Brothers.
